Last week, attorney Eric Schlimgen had the opportunity to step out of the courtroom and into a local middle school classroom for Career Day—and it was a reminder of just how curious (and sharp) the next generation really is. Eric is used to tough battles in the courtroom, but competing with a police officer and firefighter on career day was one for the books!
During the visit, Eric spoke with students about what lawyers actually do, beyond what they see on TV or in movies. The conversation covered everything from helping people solve problems and navigate difficult situations, to the importance of critical thinking, communication, and fairness. Students asked thoughtful questions about law school, courtroom work, and what a “day in the life” of a lawyer really looks like.
A big thank you to the teachers and staff who made the day possible, and to the students for their great questions and enthusiasm.
